The view from the end of my road

I took this video a couple of days ago on my daily walk down the cliffs to the beach.

It's the setting I used for Dallas Mackenzie's house in A Place Called Home, so I thought I'd share. There are a few more houses and people around than in that book, but the essentials are the same.

Other real-life experiences which have made it into this book are regular visits to Te Papa, Wellington's museum; being a parent help at the zoo overnight (just as Guy's mother was); attending meetings at Government House (the very grand Wellington residence of New Zealand's Governor General), and reading as much about Wellington's history as possible, including the life of Wellington's harbor pilot and his family in 1849 close to where the Ataturk memorial now stands.

You can read A Place Called Home for free at the moment.

Welcome to a little corner of my world. I hope you enjoy it!

"Five stars for an intriguing book. I was mesmerized by the fascinating characters and the aura of mystery woven about them. Great love story." (Amazon review)
